Review of the Tenniscamp Week from July 5th to 11th 2026
We are a group of four boys aged 15 and 16 who participated in a camp in July 2026. Participating in the camp was not a nice experience for us. We therefore cannot recommend the camp, for the following reasons:
• Tennis is not the focus
Tennis played a much smaller role than the camp’s advertising had suggested. A large portion of the time was scheduled for other activities. This did not meet our expectations. We had come for tennis training. As already mentioned, there was too little of that. The announced video analysis did not take place at all. When our tennis strings broke, it was not possible to have the rackets restrung. We then had to play with borrowed unfamiliar rackets.
Nevertheless, we enjoyed the tennis lessons with the trainer.
• Target group is significantly younger children
The camp was essentially geared towards childcare for younger children. The camp’s advertising had stated that participants up to 17 years of age were to be expected. Apparently, apart from us, there had been no registrations in a similar age group. However, we had not been informed of this prior to the camp. Since, as already mentioned, activities other than tennis were often put on the program, we asked whether we could at least be excused from these activities to do things we enjoy. However, this was not permitted, out of consideration for the younger participants. This applies in particular to the use of the fitness studio. Upon arrival, we had been told that we were allowed to use it. However, this ultimately did not happen either.
• Poor food (both in quality and quantity)
In the mornings and at lunchtime, there was exclusively toast every day. Some of the toast had apparently been frozen beforehand and when it was served to us, it was not yet fully thawed and still wet and cold. The only fruit offered with it was apples. There was no variety whatsoever in this regard. This resulted in us eating little in the mornings and at lunchtime, so that when it came to tennis training, we lacked energy. In the evenings, there were cooked meals that were generally tasty. However, there was often not enough to feel full after an active day.
• Difficult sleeping situation
At night, we were accommodated in a tennis hall where we slept on the floor. This was basically fine. However, due to the younger children, it was often very loud in the tennis hall until late at night, making it difficult to get sufficient sleep. Furthermore, the toilets on the tennis facility were not accessible at night. There was only a mobile plastic toilet cabin without fixed water or sewage lines (a so-called portable toilet). In particular, we had no access to sinks. This proved especially unfortunate one night when one of us had a nosebleed and there was no way to wash and clean off the blood.
• Positive aspect: the team leaders
We would like to emphasize that the team leaders who supervised the participants were all very nice and made efforts to help us and find solutions. However, our requests often could not be implemented. In our impression, this was not due to the team leaders, but to the guidelines that the team leaders received from the organizers of the camp.
In conclusion the camp was not what we expected and did not fulfill our expectations.

Our son loved the camp...great trainers, perfect location, sophisticated programme and nice team mates...only the food was not so convincing :-)
